Aims and Values

Mission

Believe and Achieve

Aim
To create a safe, inclusive, nurturing and stimulating environment where everyone can be challenged and achieve success.

Vision
At Crook Primary School, we want children to achieve their full potential, and place pupil wellbeing and personal development at the heart of all we do. Our children are entitled to the highest standard of education, set within a range of learning experiences which take into account each child’s individual interests and talents. We are committed to preparing children for life’s challenges and equipping them with the skills and confidence necessary for future success. Through creating a nurturing, inspirational, organised, purposeful and positive culture, alongside high-quality teaching, a carefully planned curriculum, care, support and guidance, we aim to establish a happy, safe, secure and exciting environment that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations; where every child’s potential is realised and learning is supported and celebrated within the wider community.
We want our children to be able to communicate effectively, and to build and sustain positive relationships based on mutual respect, kindness, honesty and understanding. We need our children to be ambitious; to value and be proud of their own and others’ achievements; to take pride in, contribute to, learn from, and celebrate diversity in their local and wider community; to be prepared for life in modern Britain and to have economic wellbeing. Children need to be aware of the importance of their health, safety and wellbeing, both physical and mental, and have the ability to regulate their emotions.
We want to hear children say they loved their time in school, were inspired by teachers and learning experiences and opportunities, but most importantly, that they are safe and healthy and are proud of who they are and everything they have achieved.

 Values

Cooperation; Honesty; Ambition; Respect; Thoughtfulness

How do we promote British Values at Crook Primary School?

The DfE have recently reinforced the need “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”
